My question to that would be to ask for the definition of torture. Many of the definitions that have been thrown around have been crap.

That being said, I don't agree with going out and trying to beat information out of someone. I don't think that it works. If you know that someone has information that could save lives I may not have a problem with it.

One of the interviewed prisoners had his eyes poked so hard he permanently lost sight in one eye. Not torture?

I watched a video in which people "claimed" they were tortured.

That may have applied to these men. If they poked his eye that hard just for the heck of it I have a problem with that. But a number of other items they and others have said were torture were not, in my opinion. Making someone uncomfortable or keeping them awake for a day or two does not count as torture in my book. Making them listen to Barbara Streisand music for a day might be though.

G i think the point was claimed torture. not the blindness. he may have lost that eye in a prison rape ... He may have fallen down the stairs. He may have got too close to the wire and picked up some cuban shrapnel... he may have accidentally lost his clothes, fallen down on alligator clip ended wires that affixed to his testicles... and the dogs were helping him back to the infirmary...

Torture is bad Mmmmmmkay.

Lost of sight does not necessarily mean torture. Accident do happen. Was this an accident or not? The people shown have a strong dislike toward America. Is it their strong hate toward America that is driving them to say it or are they telling the truth? Or is it one of those shades of "gray" areas?
