not sure about trails....but I routinely ride with the low country velo or cyclist group down there....they have regular group rides on Saturday and Sundays out of Gallery Esspresso at Bull and Perry. I will look on my email at work to find the schedule. I will be there next weekend...pm-me your cell and maybe we can catch a ride together. Where are you staying? I will be on Whitemarsh Island....so its just a short jaunt up into downtown from there.

The Savannah speedway has a mtb trail.

I recently talked to someone not long ago who said it was still there.

We raced there the last year of GAP.

Oh yeah, I remember that speedway trail. I raced there that year. Cool, thanks.

For mtb'ing, Tom Triplett Park off Hwy 80 in Pooler is the best the low country has to offer. Here's a link to the trail map:

I thought it was a pretty dull ride.

I may have some good road queue sheets at home - I'll post later if I can find them.

This link contains queue sheets for several Savannah area road rides:

http://www.cbtc.org/CBTC/Cue_Sheets.html

I really enjoyed the Kilkenney ride. The queue sheet doesn't tell you, but the ride starts at the Fort McAllister State Park parking lot - google it and click on the "maps" link to see where it's located. I liked the ride because of the sweeping views of the marshes along the Ogeeche River at the start, and again at the Kilkenny Creek Marina. Take your camera. The marina is a great place to stop and munch on a snack - it has a deck overlooking the marsh. When I was there I saw several dolphins porpoising about. There's a store stop at 11.9 miles into the ride. On the way back, the route keeps you on hwy 144, which has no shoulder, and isn't very interesting anyway. I'd go back the way I came in (less traffic).

While you have the cbtc.org website open, check out the "area rides" tab if you want to join the regularly scheduled rides (can't vouch for them). Also click on the "ride calendar" link for the weekly cbtc ride. They ride a different route every Saturday, and almost always have an A, B, and C group. Friendly bunch. Have fun. :D

Appreciate the offer. I actually didn't bring my bike but hiked the trail. Looks pretty fast.

I kept taking rights and came out on the otherside of the lake. Next time i go i will take the bike and hit you guys up to show me around. Is night riding allowed there? not really sure if that is a good thign to do with the signs of wild hogs in the area... :?
